Bio

Doug Adams is a Toronto-based artist and a graduate of the Ontario College of Art (1995). His mixed media collages include various fabrics and papers that are stitched onto photographic prints, Japanese hand-made papers or Mi-Teintes Art Boards. The materials are layered and then often cut or torn off. Stones, beads, buttons, glass, bark and metal are affixed to the surface to accentuate colour and texture. He works predominantly in series in which each variation can stand alone, yet simultaneously can relate to the rest of the works and expand the theme.

Doug has participated in indoor and outdoor group exhibitions and in several solo exhibitions in university and artist-run galleries. His work is in private collections in Canada, The United States and The Netherlands.
